OpenOffice Writer does not print files loaded via Nautilus from Samba share

Hi!

I am in the process of migrating a network of 12 PCs from MSWorks on Windows NT4 to OOo2 on Fedora Core 5.

I have just stumbled upon a problem: OpenOffice.org Writer 2.02 does not print any text documents wich have been loaded via double-click in Nautilus from a Samba share into OOo Writer on Fedora Core 5. They don't even make it to the print queue.
All other files print ok (Calc, Draw, Impress).
The printer is a networked (LPD) Xerox Phaser 3450, for wich I am using the generic PostScript driver of CUPS.
The Samba on the server is version 3.0.10-Debian with unix extensions switched off on a Debian Sarge.
The Fedora Core 5 distribution on the client is updated daily via internet.

Any help in resolving this problem is very much appreciated.
