Transaction Check Error:

Hello Group.

I have a new install of FC5. I tried to hit yum update.
And at the end I get a transaction error and it halts my update.
Can someone advise on a fix or work around?
I am pasting the whole error.
Thanks all.

try removing one of the conflicting packages? You could try removing the first one since it appears to be older. try this command as root: rpm -e compat-wxGTK-common-2.4.2-17.fc5 then repeat the update process again. If you don't want to remove it, you can always exclude the second conflicting package like this: yum -y update --exclude=wxGTK-2.6.3-2.6.3.2.1.fc5

I"m having the same damn problem too. . .i've figured out that it is because of different repos installing different version sof packages. . .if anybody knows how to force an overwrite of a package or all packages in an update, i would love to hear it. . .
