Need to recreate KDE Desktop Trash Icon

Hi:

I lost my KDE trash Icon by switching to a GNOME session and moving what appeared to be a duplicate Trash icon to the other Trash Icon. Apparently I deleted the KDE desktop Trash Icon.

I doesn't appear in the root KDE Desktop either but I can move a test text file to Trash and is disappers from the KDE Desktop - but to where?

Any help in recreating the Trash icon on KDE would be welcomed. The remaining GNOME trash icon is empty.

i stil don't understand why KDE's trash icon appears as a different Icon in gnome. I did this once too. So irritating.

I found two solution using Google search terms "Recreate Linux Trash Icon" both work.

Use a text editor in "Make a new text file:

[Desktop Entry]
Comment=Contains removed files
EmptyIcon=trashcan_empty
Encoding=UTF-8
Icon=trashcan_full
Name=Trash
Type=Link
URL=trash:/

Save the above text file as "Trash". You'll have a functional trash bin icon.

Or perhaps better.

$ locate trash.desktop

Output:

/usr/share/apps/systemview/trash.desktop
/usr/share/mimelnk/application/x-trash.desktop
/usr/share/services/kfile_trash.desktop

I used the trash.desktop file in systemview and cp to /home/UID/desktop. I use the first solution in another user Desktop - I've lost these icons before. When I set my default desktop to KDE and then open a new user Gnome session - I have always seen two trash bin icons - as well as two "Home"/"My home" icons. GNOME developers would have to tell you why I think.

Question

Actually there are many weird things when you switch user to a different session (haven't tried Xfce or others) However the Trash Icon in GNOME - after loginint session - the two icions are full and empty - and both of them are empty when you open them! Playing around with this stuff doesn't really interest me anymore - perhaps I can locate a full explanation here or otherwise using Google

Is there a KDE version of gconf-editor? I want to remove the trash can from the desktop.

EDIT: Nevermind. I found it in another thread.
