Blanking screen, tried all sorts

All i want is DPMS to work normally - standby and suspend etc and have my screensaver for a period. What i actually get is the screen going blank after a couple of minutes and powering off after a bit longer. Ive tried the power-management part of desktop configure in kde, I've tried xset -dpms, ive tried setting dpms timeout values. Ive tried running xscreensaver-demo and altering the setup. ive searched the conf files and its still driving me mad.

I'm running FC3 with KDE 3.3 and a custom RTAI kernel on a GForce 5700 card, athlon 2500 system.

Cheers for any pointers!
J

Hello,

I'm on FC5 now and it's been a long time since I was using FC3, but I seem to recall some issues I had with screen saving back then.

You might try putting a ServerFlags section in your xorg.conf file. You can read about these options in the man page for xorg.conf.

Example:
Code:
Section "ServerFlags"
        Option "BlankTime" "10"
        Option "StandbyTime" "12"
        Option "SuspendTime" "15"
        Option "OffTime" "0"
EndSection
