Preventing yum from, automatically reload repos when started

Hi there! I'd like to know if there's a way to stop yum from automatically load the repos each time you ask it to do something: this is really a pain for me... thx a lot

I would like to know also, but I can offer this as a temporary solution

Code:
yum -C
will install from the cache. I agree with you I wish that yum would perform it's updates the way that apt-get does.

Thx a lot. And my next question is about yumex... I'd like also yumex to use the cache... it takes too loooooooog to load the repos :-(

In yumex you can disable the autorefresh for repos (but it won[t have any effect on yum), and you can edit yum.conf to
keep cache and maybe edit yumex.conf to not autocleanup?
