Both ppc and ppc64 RPMs installed??

Hi,

I've installed successfully the 64 bit version of FC5 on an IBM RS/6000 (7044-170). But when I check the installed RPMs I notice about 80 RPM packages which has both the ppc AND the ppc64 version installed.

Most of these ppc packages I can't uninstall, because of the dependencies (I tried using both yumex and command line rpm command).

Is this a normal behaviour that both versions are installed?
Thanks.

It is quite possiable as the RS64 3 chip in the 43P 170 supports both 32 bit and 64 bit code. I suspect that you have to slect which kernel you boot from at boot time.

I have one quesition though, just what steps did you go through to load FC on the 170.

I am getting a shipment of 30 of them in in a few days (got them of the price of picking them up) and I would like to load Fedora on one to check it out.
