STRANGE Networking Issue.

I have a server that I rebooted and when it came back up the networking did not work. Said SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable.

After many hours of troubledshooting I added a alais address to the eth0 and my network started to work only for that alais address on eth0:1. The address on eth0 still does not work. I tried changing it and still nothing. So right now I am running the server off the alais address. Has anyone ever seen this? Anyone had any ideas how to fix?

I even added a new nic (eth1) and that address didn't work either. But the alais did...

ahh found this
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0C:76:6AD:5D
inet6 addr: fe80::20c:76ff:fe6a:dd5d/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:784 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:135 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:78474 (76.6 KiB) TX bytes:13248 (12.9 KiB)
Interrupt:209

How did this get there: inet6 addr: fe80::20c:76ff:fe6a:dd5d/64 Scope:Link? How do I convert back to version 4?
