Settings not saved

Hi. I just recently installed fedora core 5 with fluxbox. I tried to go for a minimal install and only install the basics; but i'm afraid I succeeded to well: When I modify my menu and wallpaper and then restart my computer, they are not saved. Oddly enough, my fluxbox theme (general colors) is. I've done some troubleshooting, and I found out that
  • if I simply restart fluxbox (reloading configuration files) my settings are saved.
  • if I completely quit out of fluxbox, my settings are not saved.
I think I didn't install a package that was necessary that fluxbox is trying to use to save its settings. Can anyone help me please?
