FC5 Java Error

When I try to run a java program I get this error:
/usr/local/src/java/jre/bin/exe/java: error while loading shared libraries: libpthread.so.0: cannot open shared object.

I would appreciate any help.

You don't seem to have followed the FAQ on Java. If you're installing a Sun JRE I recommend the FAQ's way.

I'm using FC5, so none of that works, and it seems to have messed up yum now.

Messed up yum in what way?

libpthread.so.0 seems to be in glibc package, which definately should be installed.
Code:
locate libpthread.so.0

I would recommend you try this site to install java. I did it this way all time since FC2 and it all worked.

If, after following the guidance above, you still encounter this problem, check /var/log/messages for "avc: denied" messages relating to this library. If you have SELinux in enforcing mode, it will block a process from relocating a shared lib that it doesn't know about.

Is that PCLinuxOS really good? and does it work better with software installation?
