Angry PMac G4 Quicksilver Installer Problem with FC5

Like several other people on this forum and others, I have been having problems installing FC5. I have a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver with GeForce2 MX video card. I can boot from Install CD 1, but after loading 'linux' the screen goes blank and then it goes into standby mode (power light switches from green to orange). Following suggestions I have tried the following --
linux text
linux text video=ofonly
linux video=fbdev
linux video=ofonly resolution=1024x768

all with the same result.

I get the same result with two different monitors, a Mitsubish Diamon View 17" MEA 1770H and a BENQ 19" P992.

I am particularly suprised that the 'linux text' doesn't work.

Has anybody successfully installed FC5 on a Quicksilver or similar hardware?

Regards,
DavidW

I am trying to install on a Lampshade iMac, and am running into the same problems. I can't even get to an installer menu. It just hangs about ten minutes and reboots.
