Partitioning before reinstalling

I think my FC5 installation mucked up and now I just want to reinstall FC5 over. But I think that will erase my partitions, so how do I resize/move my personal stuff to a safe place? I have over 100GB of data and my laptop only has 20GB left, so backing up to my laptop is not really an option I'm looking for a ondisk/partitioning solution, if possible.

Here's what df -h gives:

Code:
[phil@localhost ~]$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
                      229G 137G 80G 64% /
/dev/hda1 99M 59M 36M 63% /boot
none 252M 0 252M 0% /dev/shm
[phil@localhost ~]$
and I want to at least save what's on /home/(all users) and /pub/ (a directory (I simply created on /)
