How do I mount floppy disks and cd disks?
I've just installed Fedora Core 5.
Is there a program in Fedora Core 5 similar to "Disk Management" which formerly was found at Main Menu>sytem Tools>Disk Management?
How can I get a floppy disk to mount?
How can I mount a CD?
Thank you,
William F

if you have haldaemon running, the cd should automount.
to mount a floppy:
1) make a mount point like /media/floppy
2) make an fstab entry like
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto rw,noauto,user,sync 0 0
3) mount /media/floppy

Code:
vi /etc/fstab or gedit /etc/fstab
make the mount point with
Code:
mkdir /media/floppy

If you use gnome you could also use the disk mounter applet (right click the panel to install it). In kde I think the applet's called kwik disk

Wow! Steve, that is the best solution I've seen. As many times as I have selected one applet or another, somehow I overlooked the Floppy/CD/ Stick Memory Drive, applets.
Thanks very much.
