you can ssh over IP to the solaris box so IP should be ok. make sure you've enabled the necessary ports in the firewall on both boxes.

This worked for me :-

Fedora is very close to redhat so it should work with some minor adjustments

Sorry to resurrect this old thread. I'm trying to set this up but I've come across a few problems. Following the original instructions posted by steve1961, everything during the setup looks ok. When I start up NFS, I get this:

Starting NFS services: [ OK ]
Starting NFS quotas: [ OK ]
Starting NFS daemon: [FAILED]

when I view /var/log/messages, it says:

Apr 15 18:19:25 s15286095 nfsd[11678]: nfssvc: No such device

What am I missing? Thanks for the help.

There is no rating system that I am aware of. So, simply, thanks. 1st post is #1.

Immediately above the top post on each page, you should see a bar, on the right-hand side of which are several drop-down items, including "Rate Thread". The rest is self-explanatory.

Although this thread is quite old, apparently it is still useful and valid.

Thanks for your feedback, on behalf of the OP and the Forum.

I was refering to individual Posts, like a thanks button. But rate thread will suffice. Thank you.
