Program for Skins

Hi there

I wondering if there are any open source programs to create skins for Linux. What i am looking for is to create skins like these one that winblows uses.

Also is there any program to change the boot screen and answer the startup screen where you enter user name and password like these :-

Can't search as i am at work at the moment so if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

There's lots of themes for linux which change it's appearence, and of course each of these is completely configurable. Take a look at http://www.gnome-look.org/ You can install all types of eye candy with programmes such as gdesklets or superkaramba.

It's built in. Just go to Desktop>Administration>login screen. You can download other gdm themes from the gnome-look site as well

I'm not aware of any apps that would allow you to do this, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. Anybody have any advice here?

Update: if you like eye candy you might like to check out the enlightenment desktop. There's now an unofficial yum source for this here:

gDesklets does something very similar to the first link you gave, except maybe for the tabs. But It does other things: I recommend installing it and playing around
