Fc4- Sendmail- Unable To Send Mail, But Can Receive??

I have got my DNS MX record at betterbusinessreferral.com pointing to mailserver.betterbusinessreferral.com and IP 24.73.205.53. I can receive emails sent to accounts I have setup (sent from for instance hotmail to webmaster@betterbusinessreferral.com), using outlook. When trying to send OUTGOING mail from this server, I get an email saying RELAY REJECTED immediately. I followed instructions at http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/l...n/sendmail.htm . Somehow, I think the problem might be the old hostname lingering, in the file /var/log/maillog, I see the following-

"Mar 27 04:02:07 betterbusinessreferral sendmail[16615]: k2R927NC016615: from=root, size=66030, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200603270902.k2R927NC016615@svr1.betterbusi nessreferral.com>, relay=root@localhost
Mar 27 04:02:13 betterbusinessreferral sendmail[16617]: k2R927od016617: from=<root@svr1.betterbusinessreferral.com>, size=66376, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200603270902.k2R927NC016615@svr1.betterbusi nessreferral.com>, proto=ESMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]
Mar 27 04:02:13 betterbusinessreferral sendmail[16615]: k2R927NC016615: to=root, ctladdr=root (0/0), delay=00:00:06, xdelay=00:00:06, mailer=relay, pri=96030, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (k2R927od016617 Message accepted for delivery)
Mar 27 04:02:14 betterbusinessreferral sendmail[16619]: k2R927od016617: to=<root@svr1.betterbusinessreferral.com>, delay=00:00:01, xdelay=00:00:01, mailer=esmtp, pri=186376, relay=svr1.betterbusinessreferral.com, dsn=5.1.2, stat=Host unknown (Name server: svr1.betterbusinessreferral.com: host not found)"

The hostname svr1 is the OLD hostname that was unresolvable, before I had access to my DNS

When I type hostname at a terminal, I see what I set it to in network device control:
[root@www ~]# hostname
www.betterbusinessreferral.com

Thanks in advance for your help.

OK, I created an A Record for svr1.betterbusinessreferral.com, and reconfigured everything to use that as the hostname. I also configured an MX record, so I am still able to receive mail, but not send it. I went through the whole tutorial at the link I posted AGAIN, skipping over the spam assasin parts like before. I configured every file, and simply started dovecot and left its config alone.

OK - so you've changed things. Has that fixed it or is it still broke?

If it's still broke then send another mail and post up your maillog

Also post up the output from the command hostname and post your /etc/hosts file

OK, I did this and it started working. ***I DO NOT WANT IT TO STAY LIKE THIS***, so I STILL need some help. I had to add the IP addresses of the outlook clients to the relay-domains file, and also the access file. This has caused the 550 relaying denied message to go away, I can now send email from those IP addresses to my server. and out to the internet. I HOWEVER, NEED to be able to reply to these emails from wherever I may be, so I cannot have a static IP ALL THE TIME. What do I have to do to allow remote client to log in and use SMTP?

(to clarify, I AM able to check pop from any remote IP, just not send)
