FC5 DVD install fail [unmounting cd error]

Ok, here is a new one. Installing FC5 off dvd. DVD passes media check.

Quote:
An error occurred unmounting the CD. Please make sure you're not accessing /mnt/source from the shell on tty2 and then click OK to retry.
This is triggered during dependency check at install using text mode install. Full installation being tried.

System:
P4 2.8 GHz
1024 DDR
ABIT IT7 mobo
ATI 9800pro
Intergrated sound
WD 80 Gig IDE (Master) Chain1
NED DVD-RW (Master) Chain2
Bios is up to date

This system ran FC4 beautifully.

Found answer here , it's an anaconda problem.

I say it's time for a FC5.1 release. WAY to many people are having problems with FC5.

FC5 DVD install fail

I've been searching this problem at general linux forums and noticed that this problem occured much of the time with NEC Series 35XX DVD burners. One gent said he got the distro to install by substituting an old CDR. I haven't tried it yet, but I will keep you posted when I do.

I also have this problem, and my DVD-burner is a NEC3550. I don't have any other means to burn FC5 though, so I would really appreciate a fix of some sort . And yes, I've tried everything possible (and impossible) to get the install to continue.

FC5 DVD install fail [unmounting cd error]

I don't think that the problem lies with the burning, although I could be wrong. I think the problem is that FC5 installation program can't unmount the DVD.

CD ISOs worked instead of DVD

I just thought I would let you know that after finding this thread I made CDs instead of the DVD and the install worked like a charm. I was having the same problem with the DVD unmount error. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

I've seen this same unmount error using CDs, but it happens very erratically (not consistent, and thankfully not often). And yes I have a NEC3550A.

I dumped the contents of the dvd on my other machine that is running apache. Started the setup with the NEC dvd drive and did a http install. It installed like a charm. The only problem i had is that once I started the http install I had to remove the dvd or it would it revert back to using the dvd.
