installing .src problem for Dell Storage Manager for Dell RAID

Ive installed on a Dell 1850 with w Raid 4e/Si controller. To manage the RAID via Fedora I need to install
the Dell Storage Manager software, which requires the kernel source. Ive done src installs before but this is
maddening. I use rpm -ivh ker*src.rpm. The rpm shows the hash progress, no errors other then the standard KEY warning: kernel-2.6.15-1.2054_FC5.src.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 4f2a6fd2 message. WHen I do a rpm -aq | grep ker I do not see the src installed. Anyone?

"Installing" source rpms just copies the sources, patches, and spec files to the rpm build root, by default /usr/src something.

Read the release notes about working with kernel source. You may get by with the headers, kernel-devel package.

found the kernel tarball, extracted and linked the needed directories.
But a quick look at the Dell site showed that while the needed modules
may work, the actual source for the install/build script showed it only
supported RedHat and Centos or an older version like FC4 maybe. Ill
load FC4 and Centos and give those a shot for the Storage Manager
part of the Dell Raid software. On the upside the 4e/Si handles hot
swapping just fine on testing so this may be a mute point, at least for
the Raid portion.
