linksys wpc54g v3 - ndiswrapper? Help me!

Hey All,
Newbie to linux - entirely. Been around it and have an OK idea of what it is, etc. but never installed a package, created one, no idea how to/what to do with a tar file - except to unzip it.

I installed Fedora 5 today on a compaq nx9010 and it went fine. Now trying to get my wireless working. I have a linksys wpc54g v3 card.

I read around and tried to install ndiswrapper but I keep getting an error about 'can't find files - use KBUILD=<path>

any step by step would be helpful. My friend and I are each moving to linux and learning so 2 new users - and happy to be learning.

Thanks,
fletch

Hi Fletch,

I am in the same situation as you, new to Linux....never done anything except installed it. I would like to know how to install a Wireless Zydas 1211 usb nic but have no clue what the instructions are saying?

Thanks

I did try to do the yum kernel-devel and that failed as well.

I think what us newbies need is just some "how to" instructions - now I searched all over and tried stuff from sourceforge, and various other sites but no luck.
