The answer is described above: "Failed dependencies". With some (most?) software it is way better to use yum or yumex (the same but with a face/gui) to install it. It works very simple. Open a terminal, type su + password when asked and type: yum install xine. This installs xine with all the needed dependencies. If you want to have a look at yumex type: yum install yumex. There's a nice search function in the last application, type mp3 or ogg or sound and you are presented with a long list with sound apps plus short descriptions.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Paul.

Well, six years later on a thread that the OP posted in the wrong sub-Forum to boot! This is SO DEAD it's stinking up the place. Moved to EOL to put it out of it's misery.

Now, as to your question: Look up top and find the Fedora Set-Up Guides link. Then go to AutoPlus and you'll have it all done for you automatically. But...you don't know your password? Why not?
