F5: Where is smbmount gone?????

Hi
I try to mount a windows shared directory into fedora and didn't find the command "smbmount", I installed several samba packages, but still don't get the command installed.
Using "mount" I get the following error:

$ mount //myhost/d /mnt/d

mount: unknown filesystem type 'smbfs'


Does anybody know, how to get the share directory in fedora mounted?

Places, Connect to Sever
1. drowdowntype - windows share
2. Server - winowscomputername
3. share name - the windows folder being shares , i.e. MYLINUXSHARE
4. user name - the windows user logon name
5. name to use for connection - MYWINSHARE (any old name for the icon)

smbfs has been replaced with mount.cifs

usually
mount.cifs //server/share /mntpoint -o username=user

or I usually do
mount -t cifs //server/share /mntpoint -o user=user

I usually use mount -t smbfs -o user=xxx,password=yyy //server/share /localdirectory

Too bad it doesn't work for everyone.

cifs fails on my Zaurus and others have found that it fails on older versions of Windoze.

So much for the wisdom of replacing smbfs with cifs. Someone really thought that one through...
