New to Fedora

Greetings, I am new to Fedora, I am downloading the FC5 ISO's right now. In the past I've been a Gentoo and Ubuntu user. I was hoping some of you Fedora guys and girls could answer a few questions for me.

First off I saw somewhere that if i have an ATI card I'll have trouble with the install. Is this correct? Or is it fixed now?

Also, in Gentoo and Ubuntu that I've used in the past, they have package management systems where you type like emerge ddd and you get DDD installed and dependencies are taken care of as well. Is the yum the same thing as something like that?

Also, I normally prefer Gnome, if new Gnome version comes out, say 2.16, will I have to wait until Fedora 6 is released before I can have the new Gnome, or will it come as some form of software update?

Thanks guys, I hope the install goes well!
Mitch

For the ATI graphics see this guide:

Yum is the package installer in Fedora, and yes it takes care of all dependencies and installs packages for you. I use the CLI version but you can install a GUI for it: yumex
FC5 comes with Gnome 2.14 -I think it's the last
Welcome to Fedora!

You'll be able to update the package when the binaries for fedora (rpm) are made, or else you can install from the tar.gz files
