c/c++ compiler for Fedora 22

I'm trying to install the c/c++ compiler on my Fedora 22 system.

I did the below to install it.

Code:
sudo dnf install gcc-c++
Apparently that did not install everything because I can't even get a simple Hello World program using cout to compile. So it looks like I missed something.

Can anyone shed any light on what packages I missed?
Or better yet what are the list of packages does one need to install to get a working compiler?

I'll not provide the exact commands since my system is still using yum. However, you want to install the development groups.

I believe "dnf group list" will provide a list of the available groups, and "dnf group install <group name>" will install all the packages in the group.

I always install the two groups "C Development Tools and Libraries" and "Development Tools".

I installed what you suggested and it appears to have fixed my issue.

Thanks!

Re: c/c++ compiler for Fedora 22

another issue you may want to address is the fact you are running a version of Fedora which is no longer receiving security and stability updates and therefore vulnerable if connected to the internet and used for browsing the web, email etc. Fedora 24 and Fedora 25 are the currently supported versions.

Re: c/c++ compiler for Fedora 22

The current Fedora C/C++ compiler is 6.3.1-1 and is available with F24 or F25. These versions (gcc and g++) produce very very good diagnostics and very very good executable code. (Yes, very very is the way to describe them).
