No sound from speakers or headphone jack - F17 Intel mac[xpost from hardware]

I have F17 installed on an Intel Apple Mac with HDA intel sound. I'm pretty sure the drivers are installed because the speakers are recognized. I ran alsamixer and everything is unmuted. Also, when I test the sound with pavucontrol and I test the speakers, both left and right speakers show up as if they were playing sound, but nothing is coming out of the speakers.

I've tried everything that has been posted about this issue but nothing has worked. This is a last resort. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please try it on different kernel versions. Try it with your original 3.3.4 kernel, as well as with newer ones, and see if it makes any difference. ...
