If you intend to use F11, this is correct for the liveCD. If you use the DVD, there are different options, including not using ext4 at all. The DVD would also allow you to upgrade your existing F10, but as you might know, upgrading is always a bit problematic.
If you choose F12, you will not need an ext3 /boot partition, since F12 is capable of booting an ext4 / partition.

It is! Downloaded and burned the live CD, installing was a dream! No more ext3-4 issues.
Happy with Fedora again

Did you try installing FC12 where Ubuntu 9.10 already exists with grub2? Will it be smooth to co-exist?

I have Ubuntu 9.04. But it is Ubuntu's Grub that's in my MBR and booting every OS I have (12 Linux,PCBSD,Opensolaris) It is of course not Grub2.
But everything I have is booting happily in the system I have. Now every Linux (except Ubuntu) has it's bootloader in its own root partition,that's the necessary condition to chainload them.
