well it's starts but it just grinds out impossible slowly

quick update for those that may find this of benefit:

I updated my drivers using Leigh's guide and a few extra questions and now Snowglobe is running fine. Also if you use the Advanced Menu (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + D) and use the HTTP Get in the Rendering menu it's a lot faster than standard viewer.

Yep, that's the key. New Fedora x86_64 user here, SL was practically the only thing I ever used the Windows laptop for (I ran Linux on my PS3). For me that GLX error was fixed when I installed some SDL libs that I'd missed. I found out I needed the i686 gstreamers too.

But it's running fine with sound, streaming and voice chat working. Runs better than it does in Win7 on this box.
