F18 Development

Pretty much exactly what it sounds like it is. This is the place to discuss and assist in the community development of F18, post Alpha.

WARNING: Any pre-release versions, Beta included, are for experienced testers only. Back up all existing data and read all threads in the version Development Forum before attempting an install. Errors can and will likely occur which may include data destruction or inability to boot other partitions on any and possibly all attached hard drives.

While FedoraProject needs and appreciates testers, you must remember to report issues directly to Bugzilla, after checking for pre-existing bugs.

F18 RC4: Evolution doesn't play .wav files inline anymore

I have a minor issue with wav files and playing them directly in Evolution. Yesterday I did fedup my system and now I can't play .wav files attached to emails in Evolution 3.6.2. Instead I have to download them first. But it's not that convenient then before ...

Evolution is saying "missing plugin" when trying to play those files directly?! I tried to find an answer with Dr. Google but no success so far. I found older posts where they did mention a "org-gnome-audio-inline.eplug" but there's not such a plugin in my plugin directory /usr/lib64/evolution/3.6/plugins.

Any hints?

PS. Overall Fedora 18 is f**** awesome IMHO, it's a pleasure to work with it and Gnome 3 is "grown-up". Thanks a lot to the people involved!

Might be the gstreamer change.

Some apps have switched to using gstreamer 1.0 instead of the older version. When you upgrade, it would have upgraded the older version of the gstreamer packages to the F18 packages, but it would not have installed the new gstreamer 1.0 version.

For example, there is the old gstreamer and the new gstreamer1
