Opera 10.10 on Fedora12 won't run

Hi

First of all I want to tell you that I'm not used to working with fedora so don't exlude 'noob solutions' out of your answers.

I've downloaded the latest opera from their site and tried to install it. When I did this using the given script it asked me to install it in the base directory /usr/ . I had my doubts but I agreed. (Does it have to be installed in the root directory? / )

Now when I trie to run it, I receive the following message:

[Kurt@localhost ~]$ opera
/usr/bin/opera: line 240: /usr/lib/opera/10.10/opera: cannot execute binary file
/usr/bin/opera: line 240: /usr/lib/opera/10.10/opera: Success
[Kurt@localhost ~]

Does anybody know what's wrong? I've installed the 64 bit version and no dependencies.
thanks

Is there an uninstall script? You're much better off using the rpm that they have for Fedora.
(Otherwise, just remove /usr/bin/opera and /usr/lib/opera.

I've removed everything or almost everything (kept a text file of the installation) and dowloaded/installed the rpm for Suse on the website and now it works.
Thanks

Why would you do that ? The RPM for Fedora works just fine here on F12 (and 8, 9, 10 and 11). Although it's probably the same "generic" RPM:
opera-10.10-4742.gcc4.qt4.i386
