error installing vlc player

Hi.
I'm trying to install vlc player from this: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-fedora.html
I don't see a specific version for Fedora 17. However when I try the closest it shows me this:

Code:
 Requires: system-release >= 19
           Installed: fedora-release-17-1.noarch (@anaconda-0)
               system-release = 17-1
           Available: generic-release-17-1.noarch (fedora)
               system-release = 17-1
How can I solve this...?
Thank you in advance.

Re: error installing vlc player

Just open a terminal and type
PHP Code:
yum install vlc
That should do the trick and will bring in all necessary packages.

Whatever you're doing there looks like it has something to do with Fedora 19 / Rawhide.

Re: error installing vlc player

Thank you.
But it says:
Code:
[root@localhost ~]# yum install vlc
Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit
No package vlc available.
Error: Nothing to do

Re: error installing vlc player

Try

Code:
su -c 'yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-stable.noarch.rpm http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-stable.noarch.rpm'
For further reference see https://www.google.com/search?q=enable+rpmfusion
