Fedora Linux Access Point

Hello,

how do I create access point from wifi card on my laptop with Fedora to share internet connection with your android phone or tablet? There are how-to tutorials where you can create adhoc access point, but that is not usually supported by your Android phone/tablet.

In Windows 7 it is quite easy , see http://www.itgeekdiary.com/windows-7...-access-point/

Here are some hints but no easy solution
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=268774

I will try to investigate hostapd.

Re: Fedora Linux Access Point

My HTC one V as well as the HTC Desire S do offer the 'usb-connection-type' option: Internet-Passthrough (word by word translation from german)
That option uses the internet conenction to computer has and passes it to your phone.

Re: Fedora Linux Access Point

Btw I just found out that it should be fairly simple in Fedora 18 thanks to this feature in NetworkManager:
