Hello,
After the upgrade to FC12, I have only one problem with audio or sound.
In FC11 there was not that problem.
Sometimes I have audio, sometimes i do not have it.
With the following command, I can see the soundcard, but I cannot hear the sound test.
Code:
[gastonv@d51520994 ~]$ system-config-soundcard
The followin soundcards are detected:
1. Ensoniq - 5880B [AudioPOI] - snd_ens1371 - PCM: nothing
2. VIA Technologies, Inc - VT8233/A/8235/8237 AC97 Audio controller - snd_via82xx - PCM: VIA8235
The first one is the right soundcard.
With the following command I cannot see the Ensoniq card:
Code:
[gastonv@d51520994 ~]$ arecord -l
**** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices ****
card 0: SAA7134 [SAA7134], device 0: SAA7134 PCM [SAA7134 PCM]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: V8235 [VIA 8235], device 0: VIA 8235 [VIA 8235]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: V8235 [VIA 8235], device 1: VIA 8235 [VIA 8235]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
Card number 0 is a TV-Card.
And in this case Alsamixer does not show the Ensoniq card.
I said above: Sometimes I have audio, sometimes i do not have it, like now.
When I hear sound, then the Ensoniq is shown in Alsamixer of course.

Please what can be the reason why it sometimes happens?
Perhaps I have something to much or not enough or not right installed?
Many thanks in advance for each answer,
Gaston Verhulst.

I have gone one time in Windows (I have a dual system Windows-Linux), and there I can hear all sound.
When I do a restart back to Linux - Fedora 12, then I can see the Ensoniq soundcard and hear audio well.
And from now I can see my two cards, first the sound card, as second the TV card:
Code:
[gastonv@d51520994 ~]$ arecord -l
**** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices ****
card 0: AudioPCI [Ensoniq AudioPCI], device 0: ES1371/1 [ES1371 DAC2/ADC]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: SAA7134 [SAA7134], device 0: SAA7134 PCM [SAA7134 PCM]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
Please what can I co in order to see this always from the beginning by a first start?
Many thanks,
Gaston Verhulst
