USB external drive not detecting and mouting - F12

Hello All,

Earlier my external USB drive was automatically detected inside F12. Drive has two ext4 partitions. Yesterday while doing rsync from /home onto USB drive ext4 partition I got 'Cannot mount read-only file system' error and also some kernel syslog errors. But now F12 is not detecting USB external drive partitions. I tried mounting forcibly using 'mount -t ext4 -o force /dev/sdb1 /mnt/LINUX' but no luck.
Strange thing is 'fdisk /dev/sdb' is now showing partitions types as NTFS although I haven't changed their types. I need to mount and recover data from USB drive. Can someone pl let me know what to do in this issue?
Thanks!
