Question fedora 11+tp link

hello everybody...I am new at linux.. i turned my laptop(in which i had ubuntu)into a pc with a tp-link tl-wn951n wireless pci adapter...i can 't connect from my room to internet...i can;t even see router...
I 've tried madwifi(even though i have no idea if i installed it properly(i am new as i said))...nothing...when i take my pc near router it can connect(not stable connection)..
i have changed one of the three antenas with a lynksis 7dbi and still i can't find my network

are there any other suggestions???
plz help..
p.s.:my wireless card works properly on windows xp pro...
