Talking Statistics made irrelevent by time ...

... such as those gathered ... and finally released, by the US Government.

But whilst they were still somewhat pertinent, they were interesting. In particular, the graph on page four -- in figure 2. (By age)

http://www.census.gov/prod/2005pubs/p23-208.pdf

In particular, it indeed does seem like the older we get ... the wiser we become. <....>

Of course, that was 2003! 'Puters were too slow back then for serious gaming, which is why the 65+ crowd was looking elsewhere....

Doesn't pay to be old, poor or uneducated.

Re: Statistics made irrelevent by time ...

I get a break from the web (or the web gets a break from me, depending on your pov) this time of year when I roll my computer into the part of the house I air condition and lose my ethernet.

I could run a cable or buy a wireless card, but being dis-connected produces, at least initially, the same euphoria as cutting off cable tv.

Of course, the reason I'm here now is that I had to plug back in last night to watch the season premiere of Breaking Bad. I haven't completely lost my mind.

Now that is interesting..

According to that, there was actually a drop in teen internet usage from 2007 (approx) to 2010. Not a "one time" drop then an increase, but a steady decline.

Maybe the teens have realized that too much internet was turning them into mush brains (or maybe that was when parents woke up and installed porn filters on their computers )

I suspect that's more a function of the progress into the marketplace of the smartphone and it's ilk.

Sure, but only within the boundaries of R.D. Laing's definition: "Insanity - a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world."
