Fonts' display in Open Office Writer - creating keyboard layouts

1. Does Fedora 12 support ICU 4.4 Development Milestone 3 (ICU 4.3.3) with Unicode 5.2 full integration.(M3) ?

Microsoft's Uniscribe (usp10.dll) actually does not, neither in Windows XP nor in Windows 7 .

Will say is it possible to display complex scriptures like Devanagari, Avestan, Arabic etc. in Open Office Writer 3.1.1 via Fedora 12?

2. Is there any feature in Fedora 12 to build one's own Keyboard Layouts (like Microsoft's, Keyboard Layout Creator which isn't able to create Keyboard Layouts using Unicode Ranges bigger than U+ffff) ?

1. OpenOffice certainly supports Arabic. You can use the high planes of Unicode (>FFFF), but OpenOffice does get confused at times if you do (at least version 3.0 does).

2. You can edit an existing keyboard driver (look in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols), or create a new one. There's help at

because I'm not yet familiar with Linux Fedora 12 I'd like to ask you if you could test my Avestan Font on this system?
But I don't know how to attach the font file?
I finally got it.
Testing this font requires the characters display in OpenOfficeWriter from right to left.
I'd be very glad if you can tell me if this mode of display is possible.

I've just read the help pages of OpenOffice and unfortunately only Arabic and Hebrew are supported.
