It's fun to use command line to add or remove users to/from groups, but sometimes I need to speed things up, and use "system-config-users" for this task.
Since F16, "system-config-users" (currently, system-config-users-1.2.115-1.fc17) started to behave strangely:
- if I choose a group (under "Groups" tab), select "Properties", and try to add a user to the group, I am presented with an error window: "The group 'xxx' already exists. Please choose a different name.", and won't finish the change. I cannot add or remove users this way.
- However, if I select a
user (under "Users" tab), and choose "Properties", I can add/remove the user from any group. The problem with this approach to add/remove users from groups is that it is tedious adding/removing users one-by-one.
Do I do something wrong (wrong configuration, permissions, etc.), or is a bug in the software?
I'd appreciate any help you might provide. Thanks!
