Thinkpad T43 Fedora 11 RF killswitch

I updated F11 and for some reason, NetworkManager keeps saying it has detected the rf killswitch. On my laptop,

Code:
$ cat /sys/bus/pci/drivers/*/rf_kill
0
which as I understand it, means the rf killswitch is OFF.

kernel is 2.6.30.10-105.2.23.fc11.i686.PAE. Wifi worked on the previous kernel rev with was 2.6.30.10-105.2.4.fc11.i686.PAE but at this point a reboot into that rev won't get it to work. The laptop can dual boot into Windows XP where wifi still works just fine (the point being I'm sure the hardward didn't up and die on me).

I should note that the T43 does NOT have a hardware switch. Wifi is enabled in the BIOS, and Fn+F5 (the nominal key to turn it on/off) does nothing. Also, while I can

Code:
cat enable > /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth
to turn on bluetooth, there is no equivalent for wifi.

lspci reports the hardware is an Intel 2915ABG. The driver is ipw2200, but unloading and reloading the module via modprobe doesn't fix anything (although lsmod in between confirms that the module is unloaded).

I'm out of clues on trying to figure this out.

Well, I get to answer my own question. It would appear that I needed to log in at least once via X and click the little "Enable Networking" and "Enable Wireless" buttons in nm-applet that *somehow* got turned off (by the last update?).
