windows problem

Brothers from India and abroad please help..... There is virus in my windows and it just hangs after I select windows in dual boot. I tried my windows installation cd but it also does not run. I am able to boot to Fedora 11 from dual boot. and so am sending this message to you all. how can I access my windows files and run or delete windows software or if possible delete virus from Fedora Linux. My windows is on C: and F :.
Please suggest, its a total mess as i have some files on windows which i cannot lose. If there is no alternative then please please tell me how to format windows from fedora so that at least I can run my windows installation cd.

yum install clamav

for kde: yum install klamav
or for gome: yum install clamtk

Then scan the mounted drive.

Or configure freshclam and clamscan from the terminal.

windows virus

well klamav scans the linux partition only.
Also I am not able to mount windows file system as the mount /dev/sda3 command gives the error message as mount: can't find c in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

No, clamav will scan whatever partition you can mount to your filesystem. And then more. Klamav is just a kde gui.

What do you mean "c?"

At the terminal, paste the output of;

su
fdisk -l

$ cd /mnt
$ su -c "mkdir windows"
$ su -c "mount -t ntfs /dev/sda3 /mnt/windows"

You may have to tell mount to make the windows mount point read/write if it is not the default. To find the options for mount, type in a terminal window "man mount"

Once you have the windows partition mounted you can tell Klamav to just scan that file system.

yes, I have somehow managed to mount the filesystem ( even though I do not know, how it happened )
and the scan is in progress, I think it is scanning c: first.
