Rawhide is bleeding edge?

Rawhide only deserves partially the fame of "bleeding edg". It has packages that they seem not to be having adequada maintenance and are obsolete. Lamentable.

Re: Rawhide is bleeding edge?

Not really a troll, but someone who doesn't realize that the great majority of those packages are maintained by individuals who are unpaid and have other responsibilities (like family, work, etc.).

As pointed out in your other thread: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showth...56#post1616856 if you have the ability and want to see an orphaned package updated, then the community would appreciate you handling it. If there's not significant interest and a person willing to do the work, then chances are that the package will be dropped. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Orpha...ew_maintainers

Re: Rawhide is bleeding edge?

Sorry for the bad choice of word as troll is a bit strong and it was early and didn't have my caffeine fix yet when I responded. I agree though that there are orphaned packages lingering and looking for someone to adopt and bring up to speed.

Re: Rawhide is bleeding edge?

(*ahem* - We did. Check out the Forum description)

Rawhide (15 Viewing)
For discussions on the Bleeding Edge of Fedora - the ongoing development branch.

Of course, that's supposed to refer to the actual distro, not all the available packages.

Is Rawhide bleeding edge?

I recognize that Fedora is maintained by volunteers, but if Fedora to want to ahead conserve its users of the competition of Ubuntu, Mageia and Open Suse, is indispensable the adoption od some type of control to prevent that packages are without updates for much time.

Re: Rawhide is bleeding edge?

Eduardo: I have just deleted this account. You may only have one account. Period. I have also moved this thread to the same place I moved the last one. Where it belongs. You need to immediately read the posting and forum rules, and comply with them. Any further shenanigans will result in your account being banned.

Besides that, you are starting to sound like a one-trick-pony here. I'd suggest you get over it and move on.
