PHP and Mysql in FC17

Hello,
In the past, with previous Fedora versions, I successfully have worked with PHP and Mysql.
After a new installation of FC17, I like to work with it again.
But after installing both, now I cannot work with it.
Please what can be the reason why I can not start it?

[gastonv@gastonv ~]$ ls /etc/init.d/
deluge-daemon  functions  netconsole  network  spice-vdagentd  tcsd  wine

1. Install mysql-server package

After doing the whole thing as described in the URL en after the commands as root or as user, I could see the mysql prompt:

 [root@gastonv gastonv]# mysql -u root -p
Enter password: 
Welcome to the MySQL monitor.  Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 24
Server version: 5.5.27 MySQL Community Server (GPL)
