How to become superuser

Hello.
Im trying to install a program with bitrock installer but im asked to logon as root or become super user.

When trying to logon as root from logon window I get message that "cant authenticate user"

Ive tried to find a place in "users and groups" to become superuser but cant find it.

Please help.

Sorry I don't know nothing about bitrock, but IMO it seems redundant on fedora as rpm and yum are better.

Using Alt+F2 to execute program from terminal

Hello
In terminal with su privileges Ive tried to execute a program but when trying to execute it Im told that I have to be superuser. hmmmmmmm

Do I have to be logged in as super user or root?

How do I do this from logonwindow, cause neiter root nor superuser are listed as possible logonnames.

Regards

Kjartan

Hello kjartani,

For the last several Fedora versions, you can't log in as root without tweaking some config files. But you can still do what you tried to do with Alt+F2 like this...
Code:
su -c [command here]
Or this way, if you have sudo configured for your username...
Code:
sudo [command here]
