Hi,
I have installed the latest Knoppix 7.0.3 to my hard drive and it works well. I tried but could not install any packages, do not know why.
I also would like to know as to how I can know the version of a Knopoix installation on my hard drive in a terminal? I tried the uname command with a, o, s, r, n, p, m etc flags but none of them gave me the exact version of Knoppix (which is 7.0.3) all they gave was the kernel version.
I tried to do a cat with /etc/knoppix-version, then did something like knoppix --version but to no avail. Is there a new command that I should try?
In fedroa and many other Linux distros the uname command does give the version of the distro in question. Thanks a lot.
