Latest Update to Fedora 11 seems to trashe tar

Anyone using tar to back up to tape experience hang up at evolution/mail/sent? Worked fine until latested update.
Also unable to kill tar process when it hangs.

I would help if you showed the versions of tar and amanda,
and the tar command parms used.

Thanks. Solved it. Seems to be compatibilty issue with USB tape drive and USB keyboard. Probably unaccounted for hardware interrupt.

That is good to know, as I have had no problem with tar for many versions.
Hardware seems to be more of an issue than code bugs in the general programs.
