Ever Heard Of CADT Model?

I ran across the CADT Model while reading the replies to this blog. I guess the gnome developers have had ADD longer than I realized!

I suspect its a little unfair. There are many reasons that a program should be re-written from scratch, and going back chasing all the old bugs and seeing if they are still relevant has to be very difficult. I would say that it is quite fine to expect the user to re-open the bug report if the problem still exists. I do notice that the person never mentioned if their problem was solved by the re-writes or not - I suspect that since they did not mention this, then the re-write solved their issues.
