Can not seen server underr Places, Network

I have two computers with Fedora 11, a server (PC) and a laptop. From my laptop when I log in with my username I can click on “Places, Network” and see my server and access the file on it. When my laptop connects to the server an icon appears on my desktop (laptop). The icon label starts with sftp with the ip address of my server. When I log in with a different username I can not see my server under “Places, Network”. I have also noticed between the two different usernames which ever one I log in with first seem to be able to see the server under “Places, Network”. I know I have the VSFTPd service running on my server.
