Unhappy Buggy Intel drivers, F11, plymouth and VESA

Hello,

I've been having problems with video drivers (Intel GM965/GL960) since F10, the screen is freezing often and ctrl+alt+backspace doesn't do anything.
Heard those drivers are kind of buggy... no big deal I switched to VESA in system-config-display and it always worked perfectly for me.

The big problem came after installing F11 : same problems with the Intel's driver but this time the system won' t start anymore with VESA (it freeze before loading GDM).
I suspect Plymouth to be the problem here so I tried to disable, uninstall it but no way to get rid of it.

So my questions are :
- is there really a problem using Fedora in VESA mode and Plymouth?
- Can I get back to RHGB?

Thanks for your help !

F12-beta actually works much better with older intel chipsets than F11. Regardless, I suggest installing Debian Lenny, Ubuntu Hoary, or some other distribution of similar age. The new graphics setup is handled best by F12 with nomodeset in the grub kernel line I've been able to use an X30 with i830 chipset. Suspend/resume still has issues.

Yes I was using a Centos before which just worked fine.
I just wanted F11 because of several improvments like Mobile Broadband support in NetworkManager... did not thought using VESA drivers on it would be such a big deal...

I would suggest downloading F12-beta then. F11 is right in the midst of all the changes in the graphics subsystem. F12 is (hopefully) toward the end.
