fc 18 kernel not installed

I upgraded fc 17 to fc 18 using fedup (I also did the yum clean all prior to the upgrade and a distro-sync after). The fc 18 kernel was not installed, all other packages are fc 18, except the kernel which is the most recent fc 17 one. Which kernel is the correct version to install?

Re: fc 18 kernel not installed

I thing you can do #yum update *kernel*
Make sure you use the asterisk symbols.

PS...You should run "#yum -y update" before you do "yum update *kernel*" FYI.

Re: fc 18 kernel not installed

Try "yum distro-sync". F17 & F18 have tthe same latest kernel, except for the fc17 and f18 in their names, so, it doesn't get upgraded. Executing yum distro-sync will fix it, hopefully.

Re: fc 18 kernel not installed

Problem resolved by installing latest "distro upgrades" which included a kernel upgrade.
