We're the Mageia community, and we are very happy to announce the release of Mageia 2! We've had a great time building our community and our new release, and we hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed making it. I have Mageia 2 (Gnome) running in VirtualBox. Definitely different. It does have a functioning desktop
I'll have to play around some more, get a better understanding of the system.
First question: is how to update? No yum update in a cli, and no apparent update interface other than notification of updates. When I acknowledged the notification of updates, it dissappeared. Does that mean it is updating?

And what's this rpmdrake business

Mageia uses urpmi for cli package management. To update run as root

urpmi --auto-update

RPMDrake is the graphical package management frontend to URPM.
