Slow Boot time fedora 12
Hi, everybody
I'm using Fedora 12 since 2 years lately, I really enjoy this S.O., it's quite robust and wonderful, but a couple of months ago it is really slow to boot up when startup the computer, I've checked everything, but seems to be ok, I had a partition lost arround that date, but recover successfully, it happens when I run gparted that It cannot see partition on my 500 GB disk, but still boots up. When running Mandriva live cd, it can see (?) all partitions on that disk, even with Fedora Dolphin I can access this partitions. What could it be? Any Help, I'd appreciate.

What filesystem is on that partition? ReiserFS, for example, takes a comparatively long time to mount.

Slow Boot Time Fedora 12
I think, it's as follows:
A small partition 100 MB for boot with Ext3 and a 100GB partition with Ext4, it's located on a 500GB disk.
Thanks.

And what about the rest of this disk? My guess is, that Fedora tries to mount other partitions during boot and that may slow down the boot time.

Re: Slow Boot time fedora 12
Hi,
I've solved this problem removing the .kde hidden directory and forcing to build a new one, strange enough, isn't it? - I've notice that too many desktop definitions were build without my notice. After doing that it boots up faster, the way it should be.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Slow Boot time fedora 12
This worked for me. There was a marked difference in boot times.
