F12 Compiz not responding to pref changes

I just installed Fedora 12 on my computer, and i have a problem. Compiz isn't running properly. It's not responding to changes that i make in the CompizConfig Settings Manager
The cube runs and the wobbly windows work fine.
Am i doing something wrong? I installed Compiz and Emerald. And enabled it from the Desktop Effects menu, but when i change some settings it doesn't respond. My graphics card is Intel, don't know what model.
Can anyone help me?

Only for the protocol, you not is changing the preferences for a plugin not active??

I don't know about the issue, but, this happen for all the plugins or one (or more) in particular?? Also, you can to test exporting your actual config to file, back to default config and test again.

Use fusion-icon if you want to use ccsm as desktop-effects doesn't start compiz with the ccp plugin ( it uses gconf instead ).
