External USB keyboard not identified

I've connected an external keyboard to the laptop. The laptop is a dual boot. The external keyboard is identified under Windows (it is also identified as primary keyboard if connected through PS2 port to the tower, but isn't identified when connected through USB to the laptop. Laptop doesn't have a PS2 port, so I can't test with it.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

PS. It is a somewhat "difficult keyboard (steelseries), but works on the deskop fedora, as mentioned above.

Re: External USB keyboard not identified

Nope, all looks good, but further investigation showed that probably the keyboard is to blame (using PS2->USB adapter to connect to USB port worked). Waiting for their tech. support to reply. It doesn't connect to Windows any more too. Just looks as if the cable was dead.
